Building on the success of the Goromonzi Index Agriculture Pilot Project, the government launched the Climate Risk Agriculture Insurance Education Project on October 31 at the Jameson Hotel. This new initiative aims to deepen the integration of smallholder farmers into agriculture insurance, focusing on the importance of climate risk coverage in safeguarding agricultural livelihoods.

The education project’s primary goals are to increase awareness of climate risk insurance solutions, promote adoption of these products, and strengthen trust and ownership among smallholder farmers. By forming strategic partnerships, the initiative seeks to establish sustainable, long- term solutions for protecting small-scale farmers against climate-induced losses. The project also provides a collaborative platform for sharing insights and creating a roadmap to expand insurance uptake.
